IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. For non-native speakers it is the test you need to take for migration, studying or working in the UK (or USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand).
What does it involve?
The test covers listening, reading, writing and speaking and lasts 2 hours 45 minutes.
How is it scored?
The test is scored on a scale of 0-9, with 9 being the highest score. Generally a score of at least 6 is needed. A detailed guide can be found here.
